Jefferson gun outlet in Metairie has a pretty wide selection but I would be surprised if they had that gun. But worth a shot

Yeah like i said, I'm not looking for a compact conceal carry yet. Im gonna start with a full size and work that way.

So, can I shoot one somewhere? If I go to a local range will they let me "rent" for lack of a better term a few different guns to shoot before I choose one?

I'm in BR so the only two ranges I know that rent over here are FRC on Choctaw and Precision off Siegan. If you're in the Nola area just do some browsing online and see who rents. Then give them a call and see what they have available.

For what it's worth, I think you'll have a hard time being able to rent a 2022. If they have a Sig for rent, it's more than likely a 226 or 228 since they are more common.

I'm an outside salesman so I'm in Nola/ Metairie/ covington/Mandeville/ Laplace/ Westbank etc... Pretty often. So I'm open to suggestion pretty much anywhere within 60 miles of New Orleans

Google "gun range rentals" or something like that and you should be able to find out which ranges provide rental guns.

Yeah I'm smart enough to figure that out. I was just curious as to if any of you have a go to range or dealer

Any videos where you talk about your grip? Been working on mine and I'm at a comfortable spot now, just want to compare it with someone who obviously has a lot more experience than I do

This one is pretty old but I cover most of the basics here:

Handgun Accuracy and Proper Technique

If you have any other questions and are in the BR area, I do private lessons besides just CC courses. Just let me know if you're interested and I can post my email address.

Awesome... just got my first pistol (full size 9).. will be buying my concealed pistol, the FNS 9c, sometime before summer when the chaos of buying a home subsides so I will get in touch with you around that time.. I'm in Nola, but the allure of meeting someone from this board is too much to pass up so in all honesty I will probably come pay you a visit

The FNS9c is a great gun but I'd probably recommend getting a single stack for your first CC gun since you get more flexibility in what attire you can wear. But if you're willing to accept the width of a double stack then that's a solid choice.

Looking forward to it.

I'm 6'3 215, you think it'd be difficult to conceal? I've never held it in person so I have no clue... I kind of have my heart set on the double stacked FN

i am your exact size and conceal a g19 in an appendix holster with tshirts. That said I can't do so with my crossbreed holster. It will largely depend on how you end up carrying. But their is no doubt that the single stack will be more comfortable to carry. For me the difference between 8 rds of my g43 versus 11rds of the g26 with both guns being same in size besides width. I think the likes of the single stacks have made the g26 sized guns irrelevant.

It's less an issue of your size and more a measure of the width of the handgun. A double stack will simply be thicker and there really isn't any way around that.

Can it be carried most of the time? Sure, it isn't difficult to dress around it. But it does require a bit more effort and planning to dress around a double stack versus a single stack.

Don't let me hold you back - it's still a fine handgun and I love my FN. Just be aware of the size before purchasing and molest it a bit at the store first.

That works out well because I love molesting.. especially guns

The only problem with that is I haven't seen too many FNs at retailers around here.. for some reason the FNs aren't popular down here..

It's possible, but from what I've gathered, and I could be wrong, they rarely get them and when they're on the shelf, they don't last long

But you're probably right

I know most places will order one for you if they don't stock them but it's been hard to physically get my hands on one
