I've finished my last build. And added a couple of other things. I'm going to need a gigantic freaking shop, because I'm addicted to this stuff.

About to start staining these, but haven't decided what color. Built it for my nephew , and he gave me creative freedom.

BBVDD, how did you curve the top piece on the headboard?

Old thread, but i'm sure you guys have some new creations to show off. Here are a few of my latest builds for family members.

I'm really interesting in doing a Bed headboard, if my wife can decide between Queen and King.

That's a great looking table! What did you use for joinery? And did you plane and join those boards for the top?

Thank you sir.

No planing. Just found the best pine boards home depot had to offer and biscuit joined. Under side of the table top is not perfect by any means, but the top stays pretty flush.

This is the last big thing I made. Built the bench out of plywood and edge banded it. All the joints are dado. The thick boards are from a "barge board" it was 16 1/2" wide and 17' long. I cut it to use for the bench top and shelf. I made the shelf supports from plywod and trimmed them with some quarter round. The cabinet door come from a salvage store (green project) and hung on the wall using a French Cleat.

With the drop off from the barge board about 7' I made a desk top, nothing major I just made some suports like I did for the hall tree bench and hung it on the wall. I need to epoxy it or get a plexiglass top for it.

Love those thick top boards. I would like to fine something similar. Would be fun to make a coffee table or something with that.

Looks great man.

Check out Bank Architectural Salvage on Felcity Street in NOLA. They have a shite ton.

They also have hundreds of old doors they redo. It's worth checking out if you're into wooden things.

What exactly would you call that piece? I would really like to build something very similar but I need to have plans. I don't know what to look up

Did you come up with the plans for that? If not, would you mind sharing where you found the plans?
I'm on the mark for building the Mrs a dining table.

If you look closely at sporttiger's pics those are two different tables.

That's the great thing about building them yourself you can build it to whatever size you want.

Whenever I build something I roughly draw it out but usually have all the measurement in my head. As I'm working I will write stuff down but that's about it but it's mostly in my mind. I always know when planning it what joints are going to be what.

The bed that I made a page or three back only has metal in it for the connection of headboard to rails to the footboard.
