I posted a thread about a week ago about aluminum boats. Well, I have narrowed it down to 3 boats.

G3 Bay 18
Xpress XP18CC
Excel VSC18

I am open to hearing about some other boats that are similar to these. What are the OBs thoughts on these choices?

Whichever I could find slightly used. All would be a good boat IMO.

That would be ideal. I have been searching for about a month, haven't came across a used one yet. If i don't find a used one by November, i will probably go new.

I have a buddy that has one too, only thing he says is that he wishes he would have got the 90hp instead of the 70hp.

Does bootlegger have the xplorer or the actual bay series?

unless you have a specific reason for getting this flat bottom hull....dont get it. The hyper lift (bay series) hull will ride 100000000x better and is worth the money especially since you said you will be in some bays with it

Pretty sure it's the bay series. But don't hold me to it. I know the only problem he had with it was a paint issue, but xpress took care of it. I had a h20 bay xpress that I bought with the 115hp and ended up trading the the 115 for the 150 SHO. It was like driving a new boat. Loved that motor.

I'm glad you brought this up, that is one reason why i really like the excel. I feel like they would probably ride the best out of the 3.

Do not get the xp xpress flat hull...like sea pickle said get the h20 or h18 with hyperlift. I had one for four years and loved it. Excel is nice too.

Im not sure but I know their 20' bay is similar to price on the xpress bay. Try and find a used h20 bay with hyperlift. There are plenty out there.

Man if you can wait till early spring there will be a ton of boats hitting the used market.

Yeah, this may be the better option. I figured I would find some good deals in the winter though.

Why spring? I would think the deals would be during winter.

Sorry, just saw this thread... I love the hyperlift bay hull. Much, much better than a flat bottom hull. MarshMan tried to tell me to get the bigger of the two motors offered, but I didn't listen. With just the wife and I, it does well, but put another person or a full icechest, and it lacks on holeshot and top end.
