Hit the concrete. Thank God it was raining because I think that saved major damage. The rear sight has tiny scuff mark but I can hardly see it. I don't know if it was really the rain that helped or the Sig is just a badass gun. Maybe both. Dropping a gun is frightening as shite.

Is there a point here or did you just want to have story time with the class?

2 questions.......

1. Are you implying the rain made for a softer fall on concrete?

2. Is this Facebook?

You should have let me buy that one. It would have been safer/better treated.

I have a 20 year old P245 that looks like new (and not for lack of shooting, although I haven't shot it out, yet.)

I think the rain made it slippery and when it hit the concrete it didn't "bite" which in turn, made the fall softer. Hence possibly (yet totally unscientific data at this point) saving my prized pistol.

I do not believe this to be the case. I'll review details and let you know if at some point I think this is Facebook.

Guns are designed to withstand constant bursts of pressure spikes in a localized area. Basically stating, guns are designed to be shot thousands upon thousands of times.

What makes you think a drop on concrete would make it disintegrate?

I can understand not wanting to scratch up a nice gun but don't be surprised that your gun can take the abuse with ease.

A funny thing happened to me in these floods.

While rescuing kittens in sure death situations in monsoon weather and rivers swollen over their banks I tipped my canoe and lost all my guns and ammo.

Saving it from what? It's a metal gun, it will survive a 4ft drop

After your review and if the results indicate that in fact it is Facebook, I will then give you a like so your emotional release will be validated and give you the attention you so desire.

I felt bad, but not disgusted, when I experienced my first drop of a Beretta 92FS INOX onto concrete. it only fell about 1.5 ft as I stooped to pick something. Surprisingly, it remained scar free.

Well you did start a thread to tell us that you dropped your gun and it got a mark on it.
