My 1.5 year old chocolate lab jumped off the four wheeler a bit ago and hurt her leg. She immediately got up holding it close to her body. I'm almost positive it's broken. We're on the way to the emergency vet now, just wondering what I can expect.

Shouldn't be that bad. I had to have emergency surgery on my boxer and it was only a tad over $400.

This is my first post back in a while, I recently graduated college got a job and stuck my neck out into the real world. Been super busy, too bad it had to be an emergency to bring me back.

I'll post some follow ups. I've been on google searching for info, and so far I've ruled out amputation and euthanizing. This gal is my partner and I'm gonna do my best to get her fixed.

I can feel the break inside of her leg. Thankfully it didn't break the skin.

Seriously? Well, if you got a regular vet.. crate her for the night and wait till the morning and save you some $$$

Where do you live?

Get two sticks and some duck tape.

Seriously. My border collie has broken two legs. The second one she tore the cast off in 30 minutes. I duck taped it. Vet said I did a damn fine job of resetting it.

All she needs is a splint.

She's definitely worth every penny. I trained her myself, she makes every hunt that I make, and she sleeps in her own bed right next to mine. She's just like a kid to me.
