Bob, apparently you need to either get rid of that yeti hat or join the gays on Duval according to this board

I freaking loved the video of the hammerhead. That was pretty sweet

Cool video. I love the keys. I live in south florida. It's nice to get down there and fish like that.

I live in SoFL as well. Haven't got to do much fishing other than piers and out at the CG base. You're right about those tarpon, they're hard to land . Their mouth is like concrete. I watched one eat my swim bait about a month ago and hit him three times as hard as I could... Just opened his mouth and sunk down. That fish was 150++.

Bobby I hooked a tarpon just like that, actually a few of them one fall right off Horn Island on the Bar. Had 15-20 foot visibility. (You know you hardley ever get that) You could see the bottom clearly at Capri. I lost three of four fish and could not fiqure out what was going on. Never saw them. They were big I estimated over 100 pounds but were fast like a King and made big runs. A few broke my line but most just came unhooked. I thought it was a school of Wahoo, or some monster kings or some kind of fast sharks like Makos. Then last bit a bait I had left put it all in a hook. Tightline shark rig and a monster tarpon hit it and went airborne about 6 times, I had my buddy pull up the anchor to keep him from spooling me, and he made a big jump and I thought he threw the hook. Only to find out the damn hook just pulled out of the coated wire. I was maybe 200 yards off the west tip of horn island in that redfish hole. Never bought them from tighline again. Same weekend a buddy hooked some tarpon at chandeleur on tightline rig and same thing happened.

Anyway, you can catch the hell out of them in Georgia. Lot closer. Get Richard Schmidt to tell you about it, where to go etc. Kinda of a secret. Some WMA i think with motor restrictions etc, but fills up with tarpon at certain times of the year. He catches a bunch on fly rod every year.

A big tarpon. I was a little nervous he was gonna eat my hand off as I did not have the go pro mounted at the time. Just laid down and stuck in the water.
