Looks to be average, about 24 inch antlers. He is 91 and still hunts every chance he can. Just thought I'd share.

Damn good eating and congrats to your Grandpa for still being able to get out and enjoy life. Hope I am that way when I hit 91.

That's awesome I would love to be that well off when I'm 91

Congrats to gramps! Hope I'm still up and walking around at 91, much less hunting!

I'm aware it is referred to simply as "the hill country", but added "of Texas" in case someone isn't familiar with the area. Would "Texas hill country" be better? Don't be a douche.

My laughter had nothing to do with Hill Country and more to do with chital taking hold in Texas.

My bad then, it was quite confusing. I thought you were laughing at both quotes, because there is a strong possibility male axis aren't technically referred to as bucks.
To your point: you are just as likely, if not more likely, to see axis rather than whitetail at this time of year.

I've seen wild herds around Junction that you just had to stop and wait a couple minutes for them to cross the road. Like, more than a hundred of them at a time just running around wild. Beautiful animals and they do love them some Texas.

And blackbuck, if you're in kerrville.

I definitly believe you about Kerrville, but we have only seen one blackbuck, one sika, and a few fallow on the property in the 20 years we have owned it. We only go about 10 times a year though. I wish our location had a little more variety of exotics, but I have nothing to complain about.

Meh, maybe small heards on private property. Who the frick would own a sika anyways? State park in kerrville has a nice heard of blackbuck. Much smarter than white tail apparently, they're not plastered up and down the highway as much. We have had more white tail hit us driving to our house than we've hit them, dumbasses.
