More Gun Pron, My first AR build

This is where it started on Tuesday night. I have a co-worker that has build over 100 of them.

You've got a little rail still open. Maybe a can opener or an extra grip can fit.

There are always asshats, I guess you are one of the ones that give this board it's reputation. It's a 7" rail, I have optics, zoom, backup sites, a forward hand grip, and a light that I can remove in two seconds if it's not needed. The right side it bare, but I guess you already know what I will use this gun for since you made such a judgement.
Someone is getting into building guns so I would think this board should be ok with that, but no lets sling some mud.

It's a 3x magnifier for his red dot sight. It has a "flip to side" mount so you can use it with or without the magnifier. It's currently flipped to the side in the pic. It's not rocket surgery...unless you're being obtuse on purpose.

Not playing ignorant... I got it and that makes sense, I can see how it flips now. Never paid much attention to ARs or accessories. When he said laser I took it as one that projected not a red dot/holographic site.

He is right it's a POS, it has a lot of play, that's why I am searching for the one I want. My two biggest regrets with the 1st build were the stock and not getting the 9" rail It would cover the gas block and give me more room. I really want the can opener attachment.

Why is that, for what I "think" I want the 9" would be enough, the 12" would get my backup sights past the gas block though.

It just gives yo a little more room if you want to put stuff on the rails. Things get a little cramped with a 7-9".
