In MS your vehicle is an extension of your home. Can have loaded gun wherever you like in your vehicle. It would be smart if its visible to notify an officer its there if your pulled over just to avoid any possible misunderstandings.

As long as it is not on your person without a cc.
If in Memphis, the gun and the ammo have to be seperate without a cc.

I live in MS (no cc permit) and go to Memphis often. The only time my gun is going to be separate from my ammo is if I'm going Pew, Pew, Pew

Legal in Arkansas as long as you are on a journey, which has been defined as outside of your home county.

Surprisingly, the state you have to be very careful in is Alabama. Cannot have loaded gun in the cab of your vehicle. Even some discussion if CCW permit allows it, but I cannot imagine Alabama would prosecute someone with CCW and a weapon in the cab.

This is one of the big benefits of getting a carry permit - all these stupid laws in regards to car carry become null and void.
