Looking at the riptide powerdrive 55 with ipilot for a 16 ft boat - mostly freshwater but getting into salt more and more. I like the idea of ipilot and staying on a location without an anchor. Don't know how much I'd end up using the contour trolling feature.

I've only owned foot controlled motors.

Anything better I should be looking at?

I have an 80 I'll make you a deal on. It has foot pedal and remote pilot. Saltwater version.

Used maybe 20x

Does it have the iPilot? I am specifically interested in this feature.

Why are you selling it?

Yes ipilot.

My dad has parkinsons and couldnt easily get it out of the water without concern of losing balance and fallinh in. So we got him the auto deploy.

Have a Riptide 55SP with I-pilot, don't know how I ever fished before getting it. Use the anchor 99% of the time. It is mounted on a 17'3" fiberglass shallow water skiff. Have had it hold on anchor mode in all but the most severe current and wind conditions.

Thanks for the comment. Very helpful since we have what sounds like similar enough boats with similar draft - hopefully I can trouble you for a few more

- how long have you had this unit?
- If it's 55 I assume it's 12V which is what I need. I read a review somewhere (cabelas maybe) that it really drains a battery quickly. What's your thoughts on battery life and this motor?

TIA

Thanks - just gotta ask ya know when/why people are selling things

Is this a 24V system? I might be interested but don't have the ability to get another battery in there.

I mostly fish a deep water lake 25-60 feet so deploying a anchor is a pain.

I do not have the ipilot but I sure want one.
