I'm starting to see some growth in my lawn(grass and weeds). Is it too late or too early to put out pre-emergent?

One week it's freezing and the next 2 it's 80 and wet so I'm not sure how this is affecting germination.

yeah pre emergent means that you put it down before it grows. Like November

Well I wasn't expecting growth in January.

If you are seeing growth, germination already happened. Treat what you are seeing. Weedfrrezone will knock out the broad leaves. Spot treat with round up for unwanted grasses, just remember, round up will kill every type of grass not jut the invader

Most preemergents are to be applied toward the end of march. You are treating for weeds that typically emerge in June/July. If you're seeing weeds, apply post emergent and apply your preemergent in late march.

You should get pre-emergents out now. Crabgrass will germinate in the weather we have forecasted.

A good liquid one is this one--covers a large area
