4-16 is the biggest I would use, but I prefer the 3-9.

pulled this thread back to the top, I'm def not looking at meopta, too pricey. I've been hunting out at west more and am shooting 200 w/ no issues but would like some more power to get out to 400. I'm trying to stay in the $300 range. Any thoughts on Nikon prostaff 5 vs a weaver. 3-9 seems to be plenty for 250 yds, but I'm looking for something up to 14x to stretch it out a bit. Also, any recs for a gunsmith to adjust a trigger pull or drop a trigger in around NOLA>

How bout the vortex? They have a really good glass for the price. I just wanted to go up a little. Didn't want a 700 dollar gun with a 300 dollar scope.

Check out the Vortex Hog Hunter 3-12x56. It's only $300.

I have a 4-12x50 on my .270 t3. Great rifle. Great Scope for the price.

Got my 6-18x50. Very happy with it. Can't wait to shoot it on Friday.
