Why isn't the plural of roof "rooves"?

won't be accurate at all from a satellite photo. can't take into account the slope of the roof and will be off just because you are trying to measure something from miles above the earth.

If in EBR, can get a rough size of structure here.

Digital maps, zoom way in.

For a hip or gable roof with hip and or gable extensions you start with the slope with the largest measurement from eve to ridge. times the length of that eve, most the time this will be the main slope on the front of the home and runs from left side of the roof ro the right side. You multiple that times 2. So you have length* (eve to ridge measurement)*2. IF you have any hip or gable extensions, you measure them again from the eve to the ridge*length of the extension from the main slope*2. You add all those up to get the amount of the sf and divide by 100 to get the number of squares.
