The family just bought a fishing camp on Manchac and I wanted to see if you guys know where any good fishing spots were and if so, what tackle you typically use. Thanks in advance

There is a deep hole in the pass that will hold whites and some specs from time to time. When they are biting you can't miss it, boats are stacked up...

I fish the canal along I55 from Manchac to Ponchy a lot. Watermelon Trick Worm rigged wacky is the ticket.

2 days ago you want a swimming hole, today you want fishing spots in Manchac. You a potlicking sonofabitch.

Sit on the side of the low road on a rotella bucket (or hydraulic fluid bucket) and fish. Get you a cane pole and some 4/0 hooks. Thread you a whole nightcrawler on the hook, put under a 3" diameter white and red float. Sit back and drink some Natural Ice and smoke your Kools. They'll bite eventually, and when they do make sure to set the hook really hard. If you miss one, make sure you holler "oooooooooohhh, dat was da one Marsh. Dat was da one I was a wantin!"
