No pics, but my maw maw texted me saying they saw a manatee surface off their wharf this morning the size of a boat. Pretty cool. They live 15 miles up the Amite River, didnt think they had them around there

I've met a few manatees from Maurepas. They've even adapted to living on land

There was one/some at the mandeville public harbor on the lakefront last year. Had a couple of signs up about it... not sure if they're still around or not. Havent heard anything recently.

Manatees have been reported in LA before, though not in huge numbers. Certainly fewer reports than black panthers and ivory billed woodpeckers, but verified.

There used to be a bunch down in Hopedale years ago. Blocking off the MRGO might have stopped them coming in now.

Please kill that thing now before PETA steps in and makes the entire river a 'NO WAKE' zone in order to protect them.

Already happened in parts of Florida.

Big lake had a manatee hanging around last year. From what I understand, they're much more common on the east side of the state

I would prefer if yall altered the posts that include the body of water where they were sighted. Don't wanna have the entire state a no wake zone like Florida
