Ryan Lavigne of Gonzales La fishing as a coangler is leading the entire tournament by nearly 7 lbs
This is an accomplishment that everyone said was impossible from the back of another boat
If he finishes in the top 3 he goes to the BASS Masters Classic
He will fish Saturday as a Boater which is awarded to the top coangler
If he wins the tournament he will bring home 3 boats total (Skeeter, Triton, and a Phoenix) and a Toyota truck, along with other great incentives
He already won the coangler title and the Skeeter Boat package
Unfortunately for me I had some chances but didn't capitalize
Geaux Ryan

I had a long and detailed speak with Ryan today. To say he is excited is an under statement

That's huge! So cool for him. I wonder now that he won a boat will he still sign up as a co-angler

He brought his boat with him in case this scenario played out. He was on the louisiana state team as a non boater because he finished just outside the top 10 during the state qualifiers. 11-20 move on as non-boaters.

He's won two boats, gets to use a phoenix and a tundra for a year, a trip to the Bassmaster Classic, an invite to the elite series with a 16k deposit, and paid entries into 2 opens circuits next year. What he did is pretty damn amazing. He was ahead of the entire field by over 7 lbs from the back of 2 different boats before he got to finish it out as a boater yesterday.
