No, it's inflated but empty.

this tells you that air is coming in somewhere...so if the fuel pickup is submerged in fuel, there has to be an air leak somewhere between the fuel pickup and the motor.

Ok. Mine was collapsing the bulb last year. Changed the siphon valve and went right back to normal. Google the siphon valve and read up on it. Still may be your problem

Like so many boaters I was stranded without fuel getting to my engine and removed the anti siphon valve from the tank. I know the Coast Gaurd wants you to keep them so the fuel doesn't drain into the bilge in case of a leak but I left it out like everybody does, so I keep running smoothly.

ethanol (E10 gas...of which 90% of all gas on the market is E10) is dissolving the fuel line. well-known problem and that is a primary symptom as the decomposition gets hung up on the valve and/or fuel filter causing the fuel line to lose siphon/pressure.

buy a new ethanol resistant fuel line (all the major manufacturers have one) and replace the entire thing...hose, bulb, filter and fittings. your problem should clear up.

Yep, E10 fuel will delaminate fuel lines. Sill, you are getting air in anywhere from the motor back to the fuel tank for the primer ball to expand back. Also, you need to check the fuel pick up line inside the tank. Some times they will leak right at the 90 fitting inside the tank. Air will get in there too!

Replace bulb and fuel line to motor. If you ran the fuel those guys that don't throw cans overboard pushed on us you could have fricked up the line.

Put bulb in line under foot, boom, manual fuel pump. Actually had to do this during duck season until I got back to camp and changed line out. I was having same issue

I had a similar issue on my F40, except mine went into limp mode after 20-30 mins running. Bulb felt empty.
I changed tank lid, and fuel line.
Still happened, took it to the shop they changed a recalled connection from fuel line to motor.
Happened again took it back to shop...

They got stranded in the vermilion testing it out :) :)
Finally changed the fuel pump, and have never looked back.

So the problem I'm seeing is that the line from the tank to the motor goes up in the hull so I can't seemingly get to it without pulling the whole thing. Here's what I'm working with.

They run one piece from the bulb to fuel filter. If you can twist the hose on the fitting its not tight enough.

There is defiantly an air leak between the tank and the carb.

Unless thats an old boat all the hose from GT is ethanol rated.

Like one poster said earlier, take your fuel line ( minus any connection ) and put it directly in your full fuel tank. Run WOT. If all is good then it is probably you tank connection. If the bulb goes soft then work towards the motor. Air is getting in somewhere and my guess it is one of the connections/clamps.
