The answer you're looking for is the Toyota Tacoma with the 4.0 V-6 or wait a year and get the next generation with the 3.6 but a lot more HP.

I love my Tacoma. The manual transmission is a hoot in 4wd.

Toyota Tacoma 4x4 double cab SR5 with Auto, about $31,000 and gets about 21 around the city. I haul my 20 foot bay boat all the time with it.

That's what everybody told me.

My truck still looks good and drives good so I really don't have any reason to get a new one.

capable of towing a decent sized flats/bay boat (21' at most)

Would y'all tow a boat behind a Tacoma/Frontier/Canyon/Colorado? How big is too big? Assuming it is within the towing capacity, what are the other limiting factors? Brakes?

Just curious, as I have a Frontier 4x4 and will be looking at purchasing a boat within the next few years. I have always heard that if you want to tow a boat, you need a full size. . .

I towed a 34ft Regulator with triple 300s with my 04 Tacoma. Also towed a 120kW generator. Did it like it....no. Was it safe.....probably not. Did it do it...yes.

Tow ratings are pretty much on point for smaller trucks

How about 36,000 reasons?
