Good afternoon guys. I'm looking for some lightweight spf shirts. I don't do much fishing but wanted something for yard work or going to the splash pad with the kids.

I found a brand free fly but was wondering if y'all have any recs.

I have some Magellan brand but they are super thick and hot.

Any ideas?

I have a couple different kinds, they're all hot because they can't fix hot. I just get soaked in sweat and then they are nice and cool. If someone invents the magical cooling shirt, I'll get one.

Yep, bought some AFTCO shirts earlier in the week and everyone's feed in the house is AFTCO now.

Side note- bought some Free Fly shorts and pants and I'm digging them. Super lightweight.

I love my free fly shirts. The lightweight hoodies are nice. Tasc is another good bamboo brand.

Poncho are more comfortable and better looking than anything else I’ve tried.

Free Fly is very comfortable as casual wear but not practical for fishing IMO unless the temps are moderate. Think of it as halfway between cotton and a synthetic; it'll get soaked with sweat if it's hot enough and stains easily.

I buy whatever long sleeve button up cotton shirts are on sale at Wal-Mart a size up from my normal. Wear a big straw hat and a cooling towel soaked in hose pipe water around my neck.

Keeping the sun off of you is the main thing. You don't see people in the middle east walking around in shorts, flip flops and a muscle shirt. They wear all that clothes to keep the sun off of themselves.

I’ve had good luck with the BassPro brand on the hooded shirts and pants. World Wide Sportsman I believe?

The hoodies are really good, it sounds crazy, but putting that hoodie over your head makes it feel like you’re fishing under a shade tree. Don’t know to what degree it drops the temp, but you are immediately cooler by the contrast….
