I've just started experimenting with large (7-10inches) swimbaits to target big bass. Anyone use big swimbaits and have some tips?

I was a bit unsure about throwing a 10 inch swimbait until my first hit on one. It blew my reel clean off my rod when I set the hook.

One of my best friends is the creator of the bull shad. It works awesome. I have also used it as a bull mullet out at the trout rigs. I don't bass fish much so no help beyond that.

what type of swimbait do you use that is that size? I like the keitech swing impact fat, but the biggest size they make is 5.8. I would like to try to something bigger.

I've bought a couple giants baits off of tackle warehouse.com to try out. I The real question is how much are you willing to pay. I bit the bullet and bought a bottom of the line 25$ Bait

Most are 50-100 for a mid range bait.

Gambler swimbaits: Big EZ & EZ Swimmer

I like the 'ridge' on the top where the hook sits; miss less, catch more.

Got a buddy that swears by the Duel Hardcore swimbaits. Haven't used them personally but I know he's caught 3 10+ on it in the past year on a local big bass lake.

Just checked them out; interesting but they're not "swim baits" per se. Swim baits are soft plastic & weedless.

Something I wanted to add for you swimbaiters; BUY THESE bait savers. It makes your swimbaits go thru vegetation A TON easier & saves your swimbaits from getting the shite beat of them.....seriously.

The vudu mullet has one of the most realistic actions I've seen from a swimbait. Never thrown it in freshwater but they would work. Zoom superfluke is my favorite lure, I love throwing swim and twitch baits. Check out the vudu mullet, they make one in a 5.5" and it's a huge lure. Haven't thrown one yet but I have one in my tackle box, have caught specks on the smaller one, fantastic for slow trolling in a kayak.

Not a weedless lure, has a treble hook

316 Lure's Rising Son swimbait is gaining a lot of notoriety around Lake Fork and word is slowly spreading.

I've never used any swimbait besides a Zoom fluke so take it for what it's worth.
