Let's talk fly repellent

I hate flies. I'd rather get the Zika from mosquitos than have flies buzzing me on my patio. What does the OB recommend? One just touched my ribeye and I'm pissed

They've been really bad in Metairie also. Same with gnats. I guess it's the rain or something, but the skeeters haven't been bad at all

That pennies and water in ziploc bag method is used by Parkway Tavern off Jeff Davis Parkway in NOLA. I'm not local but I've been close to a dozen times over the past 3 years at different times and weather. Can't ever remember a fly or skeeter there, to be honest.
