I'd like to see the regs equal throughout the state.

Lower creel and increase size limit

Not me, unless the science is there to support it. Not all areas are alike, so they should not be treated so.

I think i voted for a 13 and 13”. Just one person’s opinion so don’t hate. Or do. I just want to see our fishery be the best it can be and taking fewer trout home can’t hurt.

I don’t hate that option.

As for size, when they’re fried they fit perfectly on a piece of fresh Evangeline Bread.
Limits, as many as you feel like cleaning.
Miss anything?

This was a slot limit also only 1 over 20 inches, which I support.

How many specks do the shrimpers kill ?

But why tho? Studies show that 90% of trout stay within their home estuary throughout their lifecycle. We have four distinct estuaries in the state, Calcasieu, Vermillion Bay, Dulac to GI and then SELA. Its dumb to think that fish act the same in all of them and they should have the same regulations.

5 fish. 16” or larger.

My reasoning:
1. You can’t eat 25 fish. And I can catch my limit every time because I know what I’m doing.
2. We shouldn’t be murdering adolescent 12” fish. I target adults later in their lives once they’ve had their run so to speak.

the only changes that should be made is to double the limits on redfish and drum and reduce the minimum size to 14"

just because many of you are jealous they cant catch fish while others can is no reason to try and reduce what others can catch because you are embarrassed and jealous over it

nothing to do with jealous. Some people just want a fishery without so many juveniles harvested.

I truly believe we need more equity in the fishing community.

Unmanaged fisheries become unproductive fisheries.

you sound like one of those climate change idiots

are YOU keeping juveniles? because im not ands i dont see anyone else doing it, so WTF are you even on about because you dont know what are talking about

we already have a fishery where no juveniles are being harvested

we have several years with hard freeze that hurt the juvenile stocks but they fully recover after a year or two and there are more fish out there now then there have been in the last 10 years yet uneducated ill informed hear they need protection so you rush to ask to have it reduced without any real facts to say its needed.

do you even know what happened to big lake when they reduced the limit to 15 to protect the trophy trout they were so proud of? it decimated the large fish populations that starved to death because there are so many fish they depleted the food stocks and now they no longer have trophy trout there in any significant numbers. THAT is what reducing limits does when its not based on scientific need but done purely because it feels like the right thing to do

are you retarded or you just cant fish?

because if you were a fisherman you should know that louisiana fisheries are the most highly managed fishery in the entire country

Why does every where else thrive when reducing harvest?

Do you fish Lake Charles? People who do have already stated that dearth in big trout being caught is largely due to changes in the lake itself along with other natural occurrences. A big factor most have mentioned is oyster reefs being wiped out.

I caught more than 13 trout pp on most trips I made last year. I don’t need jealousy to fuel my love for our fishery. Not saying fisherman are our biggest problem but it can’t hurt to reduce limits.

How anyone could argue against that is insane. Obviously less trout taken per person == more trout still in the water. How is this controversial even a little?

I think we should increase size limit and decrease the creel limit. I think the trout population is being negatively affected, and something should be done about it to preserve these fish. I’m not one of those “who can’t catch trout” btw, but I do not have a problem with this. I am all about preserving our wildlife and our ecosystem. Doesn’t make you a liberal either for supporting something like this.
