re: Lawn/Garden/Landscape Questions

I am going to bermuda this year, the high salt content in the storm surges has wiped out my centipede...

I think I'm going with Astroturf when I get a house. To hell with mowing.

re: Lawn/Garden/Landscape Questions
What should I use to get rid of my clover patches?

And should I be worried about my brown patches yet?

2-4D, get the one that is safe for lawns.

I'm noticing something like that in my yard too. Not sure if the areas haven't fully recovered from last years outbreak.

re: Lawn/Garden/Landscape Questions
Mine doesn't look like "brown patch" as much as just dead dormant grass, but it looks "browner" that usual...if that makes any sense.

Does anyone else have that "winter grass" growing in certain spots?

I noticed it in my backyard. Front yard is small and is pretty well maintained as far as weeds are concerned.

Another question. How often do you replace mulch?

Not sure, I think its in the same areas that had the brown patch last year. It's just not sprouting up like the rest of the lawn in this spot. Then again, it's where I washed my 4 wheeler off, might have been a herbicide in the mud.

re: Lawn/Garden/Landscape Questions
Cinch bugs normally only a problem in the hot part of summer and dry conditions. St Aug more susceptible than any other grass.

Move to Sun City, AZ. A lot of the yards are white quartz gravel spray painted green with a old style rotary push mower as a yard decoration. Also required equipment will be a lifted and fast golf cart, they are allowed on alot of the streets.

I would say brown patch. Irregular spots 2' and bigger?

Keep the nitrogen to a minimum on st Aug, to combat brown patch.

Add some atrazine to the 2-4d and it will give you some residual control as well . i use this cocktail on mine every year

Yep. So make another application of fungicide or do you think its just lagging behind due to last years damage. I think I screwed up and moved the stuff from backyard to front with the mower. Never had it in front until last year.

Until it starts greening up, I wouldn't put any fungicide down on it. Brown patch is easy to recover from. Keep the nitrogen down and put some potassium and phosphorus. If you want to green it up use a fertilizer with iron and macronutrient package.

re: Lawn/Garden/Landscape Questions
Ive got centipede grass that was sodded about year and half ago. Is there anything I need to be fertilizing, treating the grass with right now. It seems to be coming in OK it was a little thin last year want to try and get a nice yard going.

re: Lawn/Garden/Landscape Questions
It may be a little early to be fertilizing. But I would use a 1-2-2 ratio fertilizer or similar now if you want to. Most lawns do not really need much nitrogen.
