Why don't you cut as much as you can for timber and sell it for pulp wood. Then take that money and hire someone with a land clearing machine, (mulcher). I have a friend who has one and he can do about 2 ac in an hour, ($150/hr).

10 year old trees should be around 12"...I bought a 580C extender hoe for 7K and dropped another $600 for some maintence. Fell big Oka trees that were more then 36" with it.

Plenty of people around that would pay you for the timber either as pulp or to chip it up to sell.
Ever see one of those old trucks with a loader attached that looks a100 years old. There you go they will do it for the wood.
