Just read this on another board. I have no idea what they propose. Anyway, looks like another attempt to change existing law.

quote:

The 2022 legislative session is fast approaching and it's important you know that we have a well-researched bill to get behind!

LASC used the COVID break as an opportunity to take a strategic step back and study the issue thoroughly and we’ve come back with a legally-sound bill, where the only opposition to it won’t be on the merits of the bill (like four years ago) but opposition can only come from greed and corruption.

We’ve uncomplicated the "legalese" that the other side spent countless hours purposely complicating, and we’re back guns ablazing.

We ask that you contact your legislators and make sure they support water access. Talk to people in your communities about it. Bring this up in every conversation you have in the next few weeks.

It’s an exciting time. We have a real chance to make some noise this year, but we need your vocal support to make it a reality.

For now, keep an eye out for future information from us. Your support is more important than you realize!

It's settled now. It's the change that's uncertain.

These ppl dont know when to give up. They just make it worse for everyone by pissing the landowners off.

There is not LAND. It's water. Everywhere else navigable water is common space, just not in the Louisiana marsh for some reason.

Prior to this bullshite that was started, there was a lot more waters that I could fish without being screwed with. Now, ever single person who has the opportunity to close off a canal is doing so - just to prove a point to these ppl - thanks.

Always been split on this issue. Best I heard would be for fishing okay, but must remain 300 yrs from hunters during season. But common sense is lacking nowadays.

Can't work. No such thing as conditional ownership.

And no, it's not about water anymore than your yard is about air.

So you can run thru ponds on my 2800 acre duck lease all season in a surface drive as long as you stay 300 yards away from my blind the days I chose to hunt? So no rest for birds. And we wonder why duck hunting sucks donkey balls in LA these days.

Thank DU, bird stopping up north, and surface drives for lack of ducks down here. Sadly I think its permanent at this point.
