.... Can only speak to my experience and word of mouth of others who've had a quick turnaround by submitting online and doing fingerprints at HQ. It's possible they found a hiccup in your background check or something along those lines...

I'm going to give them a call. No hiccup in my background. I work in nuclear plants. They run it every time I'm in a new plant. I'm happy you go yours in!

Did mine the old fashioned way. Finger prints were done with a paper application and mailed in all together.

I specifically asked the instructor (an assistant chief of police in Berwick) if doing online and at LSP would speed up the process.

He balked at my question and said either way I am waiting 7-8 months. What a clown.

Same here working in refineries so I'm always doing DISA, security passport, running TWIC, etc. Went to office in BR with paper work. Turned it in and did fingerprints electronically there in beginning of August. Received permit in beginning of November.

quote:

make the drive to State Police Headquarters in Baton Rouge to do your fingerprints. You'll pay your fingerprinting fee there, then you'll receive an email shortly after that to pay the license fee. It's worth it to make the drive, no matter where you are in the state. A 5 hour drive can save you weeks of waiting

Sounds like a great excuse for coming down for a series of baseball one weekend.
