i am fishing that area in the morning. they call it three mile lake where i am going. it is in between krotz springs and port barre on the north side of 190. buddy has a camp there.

we are going to target sacalait but bringing our bass gear just in case my sacalait luck continues.

it does suck balls and is indeed private. my buddy has a camp on it though so i have access to fish it.

the old man next door to him caught 47 sacalait this morning in no time. we didnt do so well. i knew it would be bad when my fishing partner said "i am parched, i need a beer" at 0830 this morning though.

the rest of the day has been spent at levee bar and going to bourques in port barre to pick up a tongue and a ponce.

well i'm going to be in the area i am talking about for other reasons just "spending the day"...so while i was in there i thought about doing some jigging or something..i'll be in there early morning so i figured i could try to catch something if it was half decent. i also understand that there's a 14" bass limit

yeah it's a 14" bass limit in big & little alabama. both are accessible from 190 (head south on the east side of the bridge). you do need to check in though because you will be on sherburn wma. i hear there is some good sac au lait there but i've only been once for bass last september. caught 26 but only 6 over 14".

good luck and report back.
