Before I head out all my poles are rigged FG knot for braid to mono. After a few lost lures or bad tangles I just run double uni super fast and I can tie it blind folded in the rain with cold hands lol by the end of the day all my poles will be double uni ????

I predominantly fish with 10 lb braid tied to 20 lb mono with an albright because I haven't had much luck with an fg on anything less than 30 lb leader

I tend to run 10lb braid to 15lb floro topshot or 15lb braid to 15 or 20lb floro topshot.

If the fish get a bit toothy I am able to still get 30lb floro successfully on the 10-20lb braid np with the FG knot but still old habits I go back to double uni if it needs to be done on the water

I am seeing a trend where the advantage of the FG diminishes as line gets smaller. One of the YouTubers claims the FG process can damage small diameter fluoro.

the FG kills me. FG will still be reserved for night before setups

Saltstrong has a good video for tying the FG using the "finger method". Pretty easy but you will need a rod holder.
