Anybody here a member of either Bayou Coast Kayak Fishing Club or Lafayette Kayak Fishing Club?
I'd like to join one or the other, mainly to get access to the launch point information, but I don't see any way to differentiate b/t the two.
Any recommendations?

I joined Bayou Coast about two weeks ago. I posted on a Wednesday that I was looking for somewhere to go on a Friday and had two groups of people offer to let me tag along. I went with one group and they were all friendly

When does the Lafayette club meet? I would like to go to one of the meeting to check it out. I just got my kayak about 2 mths ago.

FTW, I've been around since 2005 with the club. Good group of people. Amazing how popular kayak fishing has become.

I'm a member of bckfc. My handle is Slickback.

I'm in both. BCKFC has more members to the East, while LKFC is Lafayette and West. They both have tournaments. LKFC gives you a subscription to La Sportsman with your membership. Really depends where you are located.

I'm very interested in Bayou Coast. What's the membership fee, and how do you pay for the membership? Do you have to be a member to post in the forum? Thanks

bckfc is $25 i think and you just pay with paypal. you can post on some boards without being a member but being a member opens up the more active boards.
Eta: I also think you can't search or view pictures as a non-member.

I'm in Crowley, so LKFC? I'd like to fish from Big Lake to as far east as Cocodrie mostly.

Like Coon said, it's $25 per year, and the annual deal just rolled over on July 1. You can go to bckfc.org and join, or surf the forums. Membership activates additional forums, like the hook-up, where you can join members on trips, and member reports, so you can see where fish are biting. Membership also gives you access to a huge number of aerial photomaps, which are worth the price by themselves. 10% discounts from Backpacker, Masseys and Pack & Paddle too. Most importantly it is a community of fishermen who are willing to help and advise you on kayak fishing and rigging, but who won't label you tier 4 like the OB.

That would probably be LKFC. Pretty sure they have members in Crowley. I know the treasuror is in Rayne, Luke Beslin, and they all fish Big Lake constantly. They also go to Dularge, Cocodrie and points east, along with Cypremort, etc. Their memberships start in January, and are $25 or $30, but you also get the La Sportsman subscription. LKFC is smaller, but a really great bunch of guys, plus the owner of Pack & Paddle is a member, and you get a 10% discount on all kayak stuff from there.
