The farther north you go, the less hunting pressure those birds have seen. Look into limits and what can be brought home and take this into account...

I will be slowing down at the office here in a few. I have a pretty good bit of experience in Kansas. I will report back.

Thanks wick. Seems like the Canadian outfitters have nicer accommodations, more included in the packages, and let a group hunt 5 times in 3 days whereas the Kansas outfitters only hunt 3 times in three days.

What is the difference in travel cost? Kansas should be ~14 hours, Canada will be ~double if not more...

Aren't the bag limits more liberal in Canada? I would go there.

Kansas will be much, much cheaper considering you can hunt for free if a farmer lets you (highly likely)

My buddy has a connection in Nebraska so I'll probably be heading that way instead, but yeah it would be fun as hell

I goose hunted SK a few years ago on an Indian Reservation that I whitetail hunted several times before. The reason I mention this is because there are no/very liberal bag limits on Indian Reservations. Between 4 of us we knocked down well over 100 Canada Geese in just over an hour of hunting. Had we not run out of ammo we could have kept going. It was amazing.

Some will argue this sounds excessive but I can assure you that nothing was wasted as at least 20 Indian locals greeted the two pickup trucks full of geese. In no time nothing was left but a stray feather or two floating down the gravel road.

The Canadian's hate this about Indian Reservations but it is something to consider as you look for potential outfitters.

Alright, Kansas is a good place to go with plenty of opportunities. I have been going to Emporia and hunting up there with friends for the past few years. We kill lots of greater canada's and when you can find ducks it is like taking candy from a baby.

My little brother went with the outfitter you have linked and they did well. Didn't kill the greater canadas that we killed, but had some good hunts killing a few snows and lesser canada's. They had one real good mallard shoot.

I will be making a voyage to Canada this year, so I can't speak from personal experience. People I know that have been there speak nothing but great things about it.

In summary, Canada is most likely a great experience for any waterfowler. Kansas is also great at probably half the cost. It probably boils down to what you are looking to spend. If I can help you out in any other way just let me know.

A couple of our goose hunts from this January.

My little brothers mallard hunt with CKO (CKO is only about an hour and a half south of where I hunt)

KS has been drier than a popcorn fart for the past two years... Something to consider.

Don't know, not my hound and I only hunted with him a couple times. Mine would get the arse whipping of her life is she pulled that shite. In the dogs defense that was his first goose hunt and we let the geese land for a good minute before we started shooting. Hell I was getting antsy.

Kansas is 16 hr drive. Canada is 7 hour flight at 450$.
Thinking 3k for everything so I guess Canada would fit that. Also just thought the experience of going to Canada would be cool

I've been to SK and AB many times. The lower(agricultural) portion of the province is beautiful, particularly in the late summer when the fields are full. The sheer abundance of wildlife is amazing.

Most people fly into Saskatoon but be sure to check out flying into Edmonton if your hunting the Western part of the province or Regina if your hunting the Southeastern part.

Very true. Do both over a course of a couple of seasons. I'm doing Canada in Sept, then God willing Argentina in summer of 15.
