Anyone tried the Kaku Wahoo fishing kayak? What do you think?

Was very close to buying one when I got my Slayer. If they would have had one in stock, I would have left with it.

I've done tons of research on them, but I have never seen one in person and there aren't any dealers anywhere close (all more than 5 hours away). What did you like/dislike about it that made you want to buy it (assuming they had one in stock)?

I just remember the specs being right up my ally. The only thing that gave me pause was the seat. I just wasn't sire it was gong to be as comfortable as a Wildy or Native.

One of the guys at Pack N Paddle was using one at the time and was really high on it.

If you like the kaku you should look at the K12 by KC kayaks.... the kaku's look more like a paddle board with a seat.

Why do you prefer the K12 over the Kaku?

I fished out of a K12 for several years. It's extremely stable and I loved the open layout. It is also not very fast and the wind pushes it around. It's a great kayak for bringing a dog/kid/SO.

Not the Wahoo. It's full on kayak.

Yeah, I think he was referring to the Kahuna.

I fish almost exclusively by sight fishing. The KC allows me to get higher and see farther then any other kayak I have tested. The Wahoo looks a lot like the KC except the catamaran style hull of the KC lets it sit higher in the water and the seat is a molded plastic that you can stand on top of.
