John Deere is running a special lease deal right now. They have a 5045e for $100 per month lease no money down. You can put 300hrs on it for a year. Our local dealer leased 100 of them. I know some of you guys might have need of one for maintaining property or hunting leases. Hell of a deal.

If you bought that picker in your avatar, JD ought to donate a 6-pack of those mini tractors to you.

dang that is pretty good. I'm pretty sure you can easily maintain a hunting property way less than 300 hrs a year.

That picker is probably the best thing we ever bought from John Deere. I got a free jacket out of the deal.

They look cool but I've never even been close to one. Last one I ran was a 9920. Did yall get done picking? Dudes were hauling cotton on the east side of LA last this past weekend, saw module trucks and flatbeds with the Deere rolls. But I don't know if anyone is still picking this late, I hope not.

Yea we got through a couple of weeks ago but there are a few around us still picking. One guy has 350 acres across the river that he has to ford the river to get to. The river is at flood stage right now.

The new combines John Deere is putting out are phenomenal. It's fricking nuts. We're 3x more productive and with 10% of the maintenance than on the machines from even 10 years ago. Case makes good stuff too, but it's just always a step behind the Green.

Spend $650K on module picker...get a free coat. Buy an 8000 series tractor, get a 45 qt yeti. Buy a $85K 6430, get a hat.

I am amazed at how much things have advanced since my old man quit in 99. The only thing that's the same is mama nature still f's with your plan.

Running a 9996 and a 9976. Would love to trade for a roller picker bu haven't pulled the trigger yet. How many acres a year on yours?

We have cut back on cotton but we average about 1400 acres now. We have had up to 5000 acres.
If quality labor was not a problem it would almost be better to go back to using module builders and boll buggies. There are some really good deals on basket pickers now.
When we traded we had 2 9996's that had three crop seasons on them and they allowed us $200,000 per picker to trade. I saw a 9996 back in the spring that had about 1000 hrs on it sell for $90,000. I think we traded at the right time.

Are you from Centre Alabama by any chance?

What happens if you exceed the 300 hours?

Not sure. But $4 per hr is pretty cheap. You could do some custom bush hogging once per month and pay for it.

I'm sure there's paperwork saying you can't use it commercially.
