This is great! I trained in the same hospital and at the same time as JJ (I did internal medicine, he did general surgery). Well done bro!

Low to mid 70's light, likely about 10mph less with that much weight on board.

Yep I can remember him talking about fishing offshore when we were kids playing ball at the park at age 10 (animal at baseball too - i think he had 16 bombs in a season when we were 12. Probaly played 14 games a season. 3 state champ rings at EDdubya).

Not only wahoo, but also grouper dont stand a chance when the guy is in the gulf.

check this thread from the hull truth Double J Freeman Build
Once the hull was built, he did most of the rigging himself. holds 60 something rods. and they arent zebco 33's.

Congrads to JJ and team.

Yes, one hell of a fisherman. Never had a chance to fish with him.

His boat is sweet. It as on the top of my list of the next boat I was going to buy before I had to give up offshore fishing. I even talked to Billy Freeman and was about to send him my deposit for it. Then life throws you a curve ball.

Roughly 6" diameter 12" long tubes either built into gunwales or transom near the stern, or externally mounted on the transom. Designed to keep small tuna used as bait alive by pumping sea water up through the bottom of the tube and letting it overflow.

Just went through that entire thread. Amazing, very methodical. I dont believe Mr. Tabor sleeps at all.

Those cats sure were rustled about the science of him putting 3 motors on the back

Congrats to jj

Really hard fisherman. knows his shite. We dont put up money in the wahoo calcuttas if we know hes fishing the same tournament. He usually takes that category.
