It’s cold when the doves are freezing to death.

What’s the temperature? I could see a big flock eating corn under a feeder yesterday when the camera was showing 17*

Sad.

I hope the deer are ok. Local deer aren't built for this.

Appears they might be, I’ve seen little movement on camera since the snow and ice came Monday night. One of my cameras recorded 5* in one of our plots down in the river bottom, the other two have gotten down to 9*, but nothing like what HC posted.

I love watching the doves and Redbirds coming to the feeders, they are often my only entertainment.

It was 0 here this morning when I woke up and it was -9 at my farm.

-9 is the coldest I've ever seen around here. It was -1 or -2 last year but this beats that.

We had one in our driveway that was suffering. I opened the door to throw it some bird seed. It did get some to eat but never moved too far.

I know in Houston, they were picking up bats under bridges. Once the temps drop in the 20's they go unconscious and drop to the ground.

The snipe (or woodcock?) are everywhere in my yard today. Not sure why, I’ve never seen one before today.
