its been a long time since Ive seen diesel cheaper than regular gas

I don't even pay attention anymore, just swipe my card and go. Last time I've seen diesel cheaper than gas was probably around 2008 I believe. Diesel is still $2.50-$2.85 around here, I think gas is ~$2.25.

Yeah, the difference in shopping around for me isn't worth my time. Maybe I'll spend an extra $10, but I dont feel like wasting my day driving around looking for cheap fuel.

Yep, at current prices it typically runs me ~$60-70 to fill up, I have a 26 gallon tank and hate it, too small. Never understood the people that wasted time and fuel to save a couple bucks. Whatever is closest and most convienient will do.

Cheapest i have seen diesel so far in Houma is $2.47 it is nice to fill up my 37 gallon tank for less than $80 as i usually fill up when i have around 30 gallons missing. It was costing over $100 when prices were high.

Mine costs $150 to fill up 
In all reality, your $60 will get you just as far as my $150. Put a bigger tank in your truck if you want. I have a 52gal Titan tank out of a diesel 2500 in my truck

I do not believe there are more diesel users than regular gas. Is that what you are saying?
Not being sarcastic but i have never been able to find anyone who could explain why diesel is more than gas when it costs less to make. That includes several folks that work at refineries.

as explained to me by a marathon refinery employee friend of mine:
Modern cracking(getting gasoline out of crude) gets much more gasoline out of a barrel of oil than years gone by...which in turn yields much less diesel(by product) now a days...so diesel supply suffers
there are a lot more diesels on the road now...so demand increase, decreases supply...and law of supply and demand dictates that you can command a higher price...
I bought my first diesel in 1994 when Diesel was 94cents a gallon...around 15-20 cents less than gasoline

You can't be serious with this. Taxes on diesel are exponentially higher than gas. I guess the theory is trucks/commercial transportation do a disproportionate amount of damage to our roads hence, the extra tax. Case in point, go buy farm or boat diesel, it is considerably less than gasoline and dyed so inspectors can tell the difference.

There is still only about 12 gallons of diesel in a barrel of oil. A lot of other countries run more diesel than gas so it is still supply and demand.

I stand corrected, it's 6 cents. Guess I've bought into how it was explained to me that I never bothered to question it, pardon my ignorance.
