I wish I was in a stand on a Tuesday! My brother went to his lease in S. Texas yesterday and is staying for a week. I should have be become a successful entrepreneur. Damn my life choices.

Goodluck!

Iberville parish
50's, winds blowing pretty good
Got the 6.5 creedmoor
Got to get off the public land today. A buddy let me hunt his lock on at his property in plaquemine. Watching the sun rise over the Mississippi River.

You like that 6.5?

Colleague of mine has a brother who accidentally pumped 2 of those rounds in his foot getting in the UTV. Had to be airlifted and might lose his foot.

Yeah it's a pretty sweet caliber. Thinking about getting rid of it and getting either a 26 or 28 nosler. I'll still have my 6.5 Grendel though.

And 2?? I can somewhat understand accidentally shooting your foot once. Somewhat. But twice?! That's a bad day right there. Sorry to hear that though, hopefully he doesn't lose it. I couldn't imagine losing any body parts.

He said the gun went off 3 times. He was getting into the UTV in the dark, a strap caught the trigger, then somehow popped off 3 rounds and 2 in his foot and one in the ground. I'm with you and I dont see how that happens either.

My colleague himself was cleaning his wife's .380 a few yrs ago and pumped one right through his belly. it was superficial and no internal damage.

He said the good news is that they are totally safe to be around because at least they only shoot themselves

They need to take up a hobby that doesn't involve guns. Something like badminton. It's pretty safe

A lot of people do get shot during handgun cleaning though. I have a friend that shot himself in the thigh while taking apart a glock.

Suck to hunt this morning. Dam wind kept shifting every which way, so I called it early.

Woke up early thinking of going duck hunting. Told myself I better check if the season was open. And of course, it's closed.

That happens to me to. I never look at the date it closes and then I try to go and someone says "it's closed"
