In my saddle in an area where I killed a decent buck last year. Got some decent sign in here again this year. Hopefully a 130”+ buck steps out one day this week. Should be an awesome week of hunting.

First sit in a stand we put up 3 weeks ago. If I was a deer, I'd like this area.

North Tangi. with son

Hes on the gun, Tika T3 in .308.

N at 8 mph, 42 degress, sunny now.

Heard something really early, 5:30. Checked camera after first light, and our target 10 was there in front of us. F$%%'!

Watched a yearling, doe, and spike for a while until the spike started pestering the doe and broke up the party.

So we wait...

My wife and son are on other stands on opposite ends of our place.
A nice 10 was killed 2 places over at 845 this morning. The bucks are moving around here.

Afternoon hunt, just made it up.

Leake County, MS
.270 Winchester Model 70
Gorgeous conditions. No wind 50-ish degrees.

Got the wind knocked out of my sails when I got here, my cousin said his grandson and a buddy hunted this morning, and the buddy shot the nice 8 pt I’ve been seeing on camera almost every morning for the past week out of my primary blind.

Can I change my vote on trail cameras? Wouldn’t have known he was here and wouldn’t be so bummed out right now without that knowledge.

Same set up as this morning. Had to get down and go to the truck midday because I forgot my portable charger and battery was getting low. I hunt alone, so I need my phone just incase something happens. And let’s face it, I play on it most of the hunt too.
Saw a big cow horn spike and a small spike chasing the hell out of a doe this morning so my confidence is high at least. I think things will get even better as the week goes by.
Good luck everyone.

Let a fat 4 point walk this morning at 60 yards. Now back in the same stand. Only 1 buck tag left so its 8 or better.
