ESE at 12 and cloudy
Water is falling and reports of deer moving. Upper 70s the rear of the week sure makes my .8 mile walk feel much longer.

damnit now im looking at getting a layout boat from them. time to upgrade from the pirogue
For around the same price, I would look into something like the Native Ultimate 12. Much more versatility outside of duck season.

Layout boat would be sweet in the marsh if pond was deep enough

.270 in box stand in a small clearing

Sweating my balls off walking to the stand and I already killed three wasps. More are dive bombing me from outside. This should be an awesome hunt. I forgot what it's like to hunt in cold weather.

I know your pain, Sitting in ball soup for 4 hours isn't the ideal situation.

not hunting today but I stepped out in the backyard and the mosquitoes had their way with me. Thought the frost we had the past couple days would've killed them back...nope

Went buy more thermocell juice today.
Light is getting low due to a blanket of clouds rolling in. Hopefully something with horns thinks about dark and decides to pass by

Things have slowed down since the temps started rising. Saw a lot of deer earlier in the week. Killed this 8 Monday afternoon, 16 wide and 170 lbs. He has more mass than most around here.

First hunt with my 5 year old son. Took us a while to get in the stand but we finally made it. Already killed a bag of lifesavers now he's looking at every tree with his binoculars.
Gotta love it
If we kill anything it's a bonus

Just killed wasp #9 since 230. I've made so much noise defending my life against these spawns of Satan, if a deer is dumb enough to come out, it deserves to be eliminated from the gene pool.
