Too hot, too windy
30-06 in box looking over plot
Figured something would move with the front pushing in

Walked in on at least one in the plot. Don't know if I spooked it, but with the cloud cover its still hard to make out anything.

Good luck fellas and stay safe.

Good luck out there. I'm missing opening weekend of dog season in years due to family obligations and my lease being 3 1/2 hours away.

My cousin killed this on the first drive yesterday morning. It's a damn good deer for our area and for a "brown it's down" lease.

Congrats!!!

I've watched four shows from my DVR since daylight from the Outdoor Channel of hunts in the Midwest. I'm now eaten up with it after my time in Illinois last month.

Rain fixin set in

Ran my beaver traps early and had 2 Adults females and 1 juvenile male. Dropped them off at a friend's house that's outta work and has kids so he can claim those $35/per tail fees to help with Christmas.

Fixin thaw some kinda game to cook and check my FF lineup.

Can you give me any tips on catching Beavers? I have two foot hold traps out next to a spot in a ditcjv they always dam up. They spring the traps but don't get caught. I also have to snares out that I built the "funnel" type thing to get them in it but they go around.

I use Duke #330 #280 and #220 body traps they work well. I put them at the entrance and exits to the huts and ill break the levee and put them on each side and front and back of the break I make. Gets them pretty quick. Overnight if not break another spot and do it again. they ruin my deer hunting often....they can make a 5 acre lake in no time.
