Too hot. wasp circling the tree like kamikaze pilots. Mosquito net as a shirt
Balls deep in a swamp thicket with 35 Whelen. Dead quiet. Horns only hopefully approaching front has them moving

About to leave the office and head to the camp. Tomorrow should be good hunting if the wind will stay steady and not swirl too bad. Hopefully the bucks will be cruising.

Good luck all. Stay safe.

I'm 1-1 on seeing deer in this stand (just jinxed myself) it's super thick and I know they walk it. I cut/cleared 3 50 yard lanes but I'm not satisfied with visibility. 400 yards off my box stand ring levee feed trying to catch them hanging out before dark

I will be hunting a similar looking spot this year in Terrebonne Parish just haven't finished the lanes and put up my ladder stand. Have corn and a camera out but so far just a coon party. Did jump a deer scouting though. Have one 40-50 yd lane cut

Most ive seen was 5 behind one doe. They say that's when you know youre buck / doe ratio is right
Is it bad when you constantly see your bucks gangbanging about 5 does at once?

We don't get big bucks during the day hunting over our feed. I save that for does. I got 2 coming every morning to my feed. Just need them to stay until next weekend.

Back at it. Temps dropped about 15 deg since lunch. And it came a gully washer. Just stopped.

Prepare for impact.

Haha. Doe and her damn near full grown BB fawn just left from feeding on acorns. She was weary and wouldn't give me a chance to get my phone out for pic.

Baywood, La
Two man stand with 35 whelen
Hot, havent seen a deer in three weeks
Had a deer sneak in and bust me from behind yesterday evening right at dark, flooded house got broken into last night, wife just texted me saying she has a flat, I would already be on the way to help her change it but I didnt drive to the lease today.

I sure could use a deer kill this evening.
