I got down and checked the shot spot. No blood no arrow.

I'm getting that feeling.

I packed up and got out. Gonna go back in when my old man gets off stand.

Y'all got a dog? Where are you located?

You never know. She could've taken two steps into the woods and opened up like a hose pipe. It's happened to me before.

The coyote we shot this morning hardly bled at all. Found him piled up 10yds in the woods.

Had a huge bodied buck last year that barely bled with double lung. 30 yards with no blood. Only made it 60

Oh yeah 8000 degrees with a dead south wind. Covered in skeeter overlooking a bean field. Damn glad to be back at it.

Daughter went this morning. Nothing. On the way out she almost stepped on a copperhead. Watch out people.

We are in Madison County Mississippi....no dogs.

Found my arrow and again no blood. Only got about 5 inches if penetration including the broad head.

Scoured the woods and no luck on recovery. I believe I pulled my shot and hit her dead in the front shoulder joint.

Still sick about her possibly dying from infection.

My brother shot a doe in the shoulder 4 years ago with a bow and we trailed her but never found her. We have trail cam pics of her every year since with fawns. She walks on 3 legs but seems pretty healthy. Hopefully she'll make it.

Possible but I would bet based on what you said she will be fine. I have seen them survive much worse. Have also heard of several accounts where folks find a broad head a hear later while skinning a deer.

Good luck next time brother. Get back out there!

On a happier note, we finally recovered this little spike my dad shot for a doe at sundown.

The buck turned his head to look behind him as my dad squeezed off the shot. His bolt entered the deer's neck on its right side, exited the left side of his neck, and then reentered the shoulder.

The little buck jumped side ways then flipped to his back before running off. We trailed this deer for six hundred yards. By looking at the blood trail the deer should have fallen dead within a hundred yards.

Hunted Copiah county yesterday. My day:

Today was very interesting to say the least!

Morning hunt I sat in an oak funnel that was raining acorns. Right at light I hear one behind me and I see this small deer with big ears just behind me. I'm assuming it's one of the 2 spikes we've been getting on camera in the area. About 10 minutes later I hear another deer coming in the same spot. I see this real big doe walk out. She's 20yds but I don't have a shot. She keeps looking back and eventually a spotty fawn comes up. They hung out a bit the walked off.

Tonight I sat on a food plot and it was quiet until 6:45 when I saw movement. Through the thickset brush around I see a real good 8pt walk up into the plot. 30yds away but no shot. He walks off away from me into some oaks for the night.

All in all great day. Hoping to let one fly tomorrow tho.

Passed on a nice 11-point, probably 2 year old buck last night. Hoping to let him live few more seasons. Potential monster.

Sitting in my truck right now because it's off and on pouring rain.

Congratulations and great job sticking with it. Unbelievable how far they can go sometimes! had a similar experience several years ago and with a small deer as well - buddy and I tracked it for hours, enough time for the moon to come up and see a full eclipse and then back to full moon! found deer and it was standing there looking at us. I did not have my bow (last time I made that mistake) so I had to run about 600 plus yards, grab my bow and return while my buddy watched the deer. Final shot and all was good.
