Deer hunt
Jarreau, LA
41 degrees, cloudy with 6 mph NW winds
12 gauge Stevens 311 with full ckoked 30” barrels loaded with 3” 1 buck

Nestled in a turkey chair in a gum ball sampling thicket loaded with hookings. Hoping something sneaks through close, I can only see 30 yards in every direction. Good luck to all out this morning.

Time is running out for my middle one to get some meat in the ground. Food plot in 15yo pine that butts up against a bottom. A nice 8 and giant fork horn have been in here sporadically over the last two weeks. Hoping they slip up.

Hunting a power line we see a majority of our deer on

Forgot my boots at the house this morning, glad I didn’t have to walk through the woods to get to my stand. May need to kick the crocs into 4 wheel drive if we shoot

Hunting a creek bottom, mid-40s with a steady mist. Using a 30-06 and my arse is already wet. Deer were waving at me as I was leaving town driving down the highway this morning. I'm strongly considering shooting the first legal deer I see if I have any visitors.

A tree fell about 100 yards away from me after I was in the stand for 10 minutes. Not liking the vibes of this morning so far.

Watching the rain roll out as we get ready for an 8 year old basketball game, but thankfully it's at 8 so I'm heading straight to the woods right after.

29 and still. Ground is covered with last night’s snow and it kinda looks like a Beverly Doolittle painting.

Mathews NoCam with Traypan broadheads.

Sitting along a game trail behind my pole barn. Have 4 does in the freezer already so I am hunting antlers today.

Good luck everyone!

Your father in law hunts with a M1? That's kind of bad arse!

It's his hog gun but he wanted to put a deer on the ground with it. He said the scope was way off, but I'm betting on the loose nut behind the trigger.
