St. Tammany
Bow
34ish and north thermal
Back in the beech tree. Saw a doe and a yearling at another spot yesterday afternoon. One of my shooters was in here but had the wrong wind. Looking for anything with horns that isn’t 2 years old. In late season dog day mode.

In the saddle in a big tree with a lot of branches for cover, in the middle of a small clear cut. Saw a decent buck with a doe in this area on my way out the other day. Put up my buck decoy with only 1 side of his rack attached, so I’ll do some blind calling a little later. Or if I see one off in the distance I’ll be able to grunt at him and hopefully the decoy catches his attention.
Only shooting a nice buck or a doe. Young bucks get to live since I’m on my last buck tag.

Area 6
42° NNW wind 5mph.
.308

Does on camera all through morning hours up until 5:52. Looking for a Buck but trigger finger is getting antsy. I’m my family land (dad’s side) that I’ve never killed a deer on. We didn’t really deer hunt it up until a few years ago. Normally 80% of it is flooded by now and we duck hunt so hard to get on deer. If I can get one I’ll be over the moon excited. Good luck baws.

Impossible. 6.5cm rounds don’t kill deer.

I haven’t seen a thing. Heard one blowing a couple hundred yards through the woods earlier, but it’s been pretty dead. Feet getting cold.

Full time hunting vicariously through these threads now, season is too short! Maybe I should pick up bow hunting...

Even the deer are in saddles now…

Exactly how I’d expect a creedmore hunter to haul a deer

Jokes aside, congrats baw!

Seems like the woods slept in this morning. It was dead silent till 8 o clock or so. Got busted trying to get a shot on an old freezer queen by one of her underlings, wasn’t mad at it one bit.

a few more and we cook some rice

Do it. I literally just started and it’s truly fun. More challenging. Look forward to next October.

I’ll still hunt muzzle and rifle but once I get 2 deer, the guns are getting picked up.

I was dragging them out like this even when I was shooting those .270s that are stowed away in the gun cabinet.

Non-resident-Louisiana-native license. $38 for me to sit out here for up to 10 days is a helluva deal!
