37° calm and thick ground fog.

The pup and I are trying to get a few ducks. I whiffed on a passing wood duck over the decoys but naturally I crushed a ring neck. Good luck out there baws and be safe.

Pretty active morning for me so far. Had those two young deer come through early. A buck was talking towards me through the woods but he caught wind of something he liked better and right angled out of here. Shortly after that, a doe walked basically to the base of my tree. I’m on a ridge next to a drop off, so not setup very high. Maybe 15’. She looked up at me and stomped and blew a couple times, but decided I was nothing and kept walking. A small 6pt came through about 5 minutes later trailing her. Now I’ve got a spike in the bottom of the draw next to me that I’m pretty sure is scared of his own shadow. He’s been walking in circles for 30 minutes jumping every so often.

No shooters, but good to be covered up with deer in the deep woods. Goofy critters.

After same Buck I've been hunting all season, I'm ready to kill him so I can start trapping. It's been a long season and I'm getting worn down.

No hunting today. Went searching this morning for a doe I shot at last night but didn't find anything. Had a doe walk within 50 yards of me in the woods while I was searching this morning. Anytime I try to actually deer hunt by walking in the woods I never see one, but when I'm doing something else like squirrel hunting, I get right on top of them.

We did find a ton of new rubs and scrapes around the edge of the food plot. A camera we have near the scrapes has a nice buck cruising around the past two nights. Unfortunately no more hunting until next weekend.

Lots of activity last night. Saw 2 during light and one doe after legal shooting time walking out. Then lots of activity on camera with the target 8 again.

Going to get him eventually
