Not having any luck finding one. Closest thing is the Generac MobileLink which just lets you monitor generator status and alerts. I'm looking for a way that I can remote start a generator from miles away.

I'm sure you could Rig something with a cell phone. Like an IED.

It has got to be doable, you can crank your camp a/c from afar with the right set-up.

I'm actually curious. Why would you want to start your generator from "afar". I would be a fricking head case knowing me or someone I know isn't near it when it's running. Mine has an automatic shutoff in case of low oil which is reassuring.

No power to a wifi router if u need to turn on a generator

Pan Am Power in Covington offers a system called Omni Matrix that is cellular based. Pretty sure it allows for remote start.

I work for a generator manufacturer, we do not build residential units (industrial only). We use Deep Sea Electronics controllers and it has an additional module that you can buy. It allows you to start it from your phone or computer. It also sends text message alerts, emails etc.

There are several systems out there with this capability. Your problem will be that you will have to change the generator controller first because generac has proprietary software.

Contact whoever installed it for you or who you bought it from and see if generac can offer something that is compatible with their proprietary controller that will remote start/monitor.

If not, replace the controller with a DSE7320 and a DSE890 remote module. This will cost about a grand but if it's important to you then it is worth it.
