Some guys on our old lease had white plates hooked to car batteries in about 97-98 a year or so before the official mojo came out (first one was called a fatal deducktion I think) and it was insane what it did to them. I haven't owned one in years and I don't think they're that good after the first few weeks unless you are hunting a dry field. They are simply unreal on a dry field when ducks are on them. I'd rather use full bodies and jerk strings in fields.

Some guys at my camp made one in the 80's out of a decoy and a remote control car.

They should have patented that shite

We used a remote control car in a flambeau magnum with Easton arrow shafts and cut the wings out of a 5gal bucket. Worked like a sumbitch.

That's pretty much exactly what they did. Not sure what the wings were made out of. It was around our camp up until a few years ago.

If everyone in your area is using mojos , try a vortex . It will suck the teal in bigtime ....

True. We got the vortex when it came out a few years back and it sucked them down. I killed my first cinnamon teal when it came and tried to do some mid air trick fricking.

Vortex? A clown who used to run a lease I was in was a huge fan of these but it took forever to lug it out there and set it up. I don't use mojos and don't have anything against those that do but at what point does it become a hassle to fool with them? Invariably it always turns into an argument if one guy brings his mojo and the first group doesn't act right. Life is always better when that somebody is your old man too.

The vortex can be left in the field . Just take the windduk decoys off after the hunt . It does not spook the ducks when left in the field . The only issue we have is when we are pulling the ducks off other blinds in our area . It will flare the crap out of geese though .

I mean yea some of the older birds are skiddish to it, but you have to remember there are new birds every year. They do work better early in the year, when there is more wind, and when the sun is shining. It does help to he able to turn it off

I remember the first version of the Mojo I ever saw. We were hunting Arkansas and one of the locals had a shoe box with an electric motor out of a tractor AC in the box. The double shafts sticking out of the box had foam flip flops slid up on them for "wings". Wish I had taken a picture of it. After we hunted over it nobody was laughing anymore. I will try to dig out the old version I made and post a picture.

I remember my dad getting the bill from our local tractor dealer asking who ordered the extra fan motor?

When they first came out I cut open an old flambeaux mallard decoy. Inside that sucker I fashioned the rear wheel assembly and motor from an old RC car. It span so fast. I forgot what I used for the wings?

I don't really mess with them too much these days. My buddies dad is fixing to take over the electric duck game pretty soon with some new creations. LDWF might not let these bad boys past security...
