Is anyone else expecting an early fall?

All of the trees are dropping leaves. And while it has been very hot, I'm seeing wet grasses giving up.
Usually I think fall when I smell pecan around the house. They are the first to drop leaves around me.

Leaves have been turning yellow and dropping here in Atlanta for the last week Or so. There was a hint of cooler air to the breeze last week.

God I hope so! We need rain and cooler temps to start food plots next month. I hate the heat!

leaves are turning color because of lack of rain. they are scorched in the heat and sun.
no early fall.
no early fall.

They're dying of heat stroke and dehydration.

No heat index will be well over 100 into December

I cut a few small persimmon open from the tree in the back yard. I checked the seeds. I had spoons inside so i expect a wet and cold winter. However, I don't expect it to be an early chill.

Expecting? No.
Hoping and praying? Yes.

spent 20 minutes watering garden after cut grass, annuals looking bad. i was leaving hose in garden to soak the beds, then i realized my sidewalk became a river in secnods. fricking garden bed wouldn't even soak in the water.
this is the hottest summer ever. i might relocate my mailbox inside my garage cause of the heat. that walk is brutal. i may just take my trash with me to work so i don't have to bring the can to the street. i may check out the lunar schedule to cut my grass on the next full moon.

Not necessarily early fall, but a break from the heat is coming soon.

We need this high pressure system to get the frick out... It's been sitting over us and Texas for the last month... When some cool fronts start diving down, hopefully it will finally move....

One can only fricking dream and hope.
I recall a discussion with the girl from whom I occasionally rent a camp over on Toledo Bend. She was bitching about the heat and summers getting hotter. I asked her if that creature running around in her back yard, just made legal age, and was showing off her arse and tits in a mini-bikini ever complained about the temps. She replied "no". As I explained to her, it was because her daughter was 18 and she was not. As we get older we get more sensitive to the heat (and yes, the cold). I have gotten that I simply don't fish in late July through the end of September because at 60, I just don't want to risk it with the heat. Besides, a lot of fish get rather sluggish at this time of the year anyway. I can find a number of things to do inside while waiting for fall, sometimes a mild winter, and spring.

I love how its 2015 and people are still trying to predict the weather with caveman tactics

We're drifting into fall here. My favorite time of year. Leaves are starting to change, weather patterns changing. Longer shadows, darkness at night.
