Installing a LED tailgate Light bar

Can a 5 yr old do this? Do you have to remove tailgate? WHere's the power connection at? Does light bar screw to something?

Like this? The just mount with double stick tape or provided self tapping screws. Use the screws as the tape will likely fall off in time. Most come with a standard 4 pin trailer plug in or can be hardwired in. If you have the one that lights up white while in revers you'll need to tap into the reverse lights in the tail light.

Tailgate doesn't have to come off. You should have plenty of room with it on. When I did mine I'll use the double stick tape to hold it in place and make sure it's level then get a drill with a long extension and put in the self tapping screws.

I've use the ones off EBay with sucess. The brand name escapes me but they're ljke $60 shipped for the one with the reverse lights and have a 1 year warranty. Had one fail and they replaced it no questions asked.
Recon has a horrible rep for warranty issues on their products. Pretty sure it's all just rebranded knock off crap anyway. Note how the $650 Recon 11-14 F250 headlights are identical to the $300 Ebay ones.
