Looking for a 2006 or under jeep.. and what are some things to look for? I was told to get a rubicon.. In line 6 cylinder. That's all I know so far. I do know they're proud of those mother bitches.

Why are you leaning towards a 10 year old vehicle? Serious question. Because if you are looking at a Jeep you aren't looking for practicality.

Why not a newer model?

Because the TJ Wrangler, made from 1997 to 2006 is exponentially less complicated and cheaper on every level from the newer JK model (2007-present). The inline 6 is far superior to the crappy V6 engine they used from 2007-2012. Dude's looking for a toy, not a daily driver, why would he spend thousands more on a newer one?

exactly, the newer ones have a v6 borrowed from the mini van. Yhey have some good years and some bad years of that engine.

As mentioned above look for a 97 to 06 with the I-6. Does not have to be a rubicon, but look for a dana 44 rear axle at least in a non rubicon.

I wonder why they can't put a Hemi in a Jeep.

They can, federal government won't let them. There are a lot of hemi conversions out there. The 3.6 Pentastar engines in 2012+ has been an impressive upgrade to the I6 (the Chrysler crate motor 2007-2012 was junk).

Unless you are a mechanic then don't get one.

I would say they top 4 on this list are accurate. After that they started to get a little humorous.

As you can see they are big on the Jeep Rubicon but they are saying 2007 or later...

When you say, "they" I am guessing you are referring to Jeep/Chrysler/Fiat cause I have a HEMI in mine

The V6 is a better engine than the 4.0, now if someone wants to complain about the added electronics, they have a point, but the JK is far superior to the TJ's. That being said, OP, I am looking for a TJ as well, so I can shove a LS motor in it

it really depends on your budget and end game with the Jeep. What are looking to do with it

My pops bought a 99 4cl for hunting, etc. $6k with 80k miles. It does well in the woods. If you re not going to tow much, I would suggest looking at a similar one. People ask way too much for the V6's, IMO.

I went to Jesse's in Slidell when I was looking for one a few months ago. Waste of time. They were filthy and beat up. Bought one from private seller.

That's a good bet. My wife had a 2005 Rubicon Unlimited (2 door, long body) that was awesome. We loved that jeep but had to get rid of it. Now, she has a '12 that is even better. Lift and all. Also, I am in the market for one also - and have grand plans for it.
