Sank my ol red Z71 on the Homochitto river bad like that back in 03' or 04'. Took 2 days to get it out, local dicks wanted big money to even attempt to hookup to it. Luckily we had resources in the local area. Had ranch hands come pick us up, spend the night at the hunting lodge, and showed back up the next day with a tractor and dozer on a lowboy. Told the a-hole locals to kiss my arse on the way out. Did meet a few good guy out there thou, they just did't have anything big enough to get my truck out. We burnt up the 12K winch on the 2500 ranch truck and almost ripped the ranch hand front bumper off trying on pull on it. Insurance totaled it our, I loved that truck, single cab, step side, vinyl floors, 5 speed, 6" lift on 35"s..

Sorry no pics, before camera phones....

Good luck getting Pop's truck out TD

Get a tractor and connect tow ropes to the recovery hooks on the truck to the tractor and go from there

They got it out the next day in the rain. I have no idea how. I was at work.

Therefore, it was the best recovery story.

As for getting it out. 10 drums per truck, ratchet straps under the truck. Tighten them up...lift trucks slightly.. Float em out. Idiots.
I have actually done this

Flooded behind the levee, and I went through a hole I didn't want to go back through. Left it parked on high ground. Came back the next day, and water was higher. Even higher the day after that, so I decided to float the sum bitch out.

8 - 55gal drums
4 - 4x4x12
Buncha heavy duty ratchet straps
~250ft of wire, straps, chains, and rope

Found out that day that your front tires steer a floating truck very well. Water was about 8ft deep and flowing (MS River batture). Truck leveled out with water up to the cup holders. Once it was through, I drained it out and drove it home.
